The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) presented the “China-Thailand Tourism & Cultural Arts Festival 2026” on 27 March 2026, held from 17.00 to 20.00 at Chulalongkorn University’s Centenary Park, welcoming over 1,000 guests and highlighting Thailand’s distinctive wellness offerings and cultural strengths while deepening tourism and cultural exchange with China.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said, “This festival reflects Thailand’s strength as a leading wellness destination, where culture and well-being are closely connected. Through this platform, we are strengthening Thailand–China tourism ties while presenting meaningful experiences that respond to growing demand for balance, health, and cultural authenticity.”
Joining Ms. Thapanee were Mr. Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Affairs Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and a panel of distinguished judges from Thailand and China overseeing the performance programme.
Held under the concept ‘Forever Young in the Heart of Thailand’, the festival transformed the venue into a Wellness and Healing Garden where art, performance, and traditional knowledge came together to promote physical and mental well-being. Organised in collaboration with TAT’s five overseas offices in China and key partners, the event was designed to engage high-quality Chinese travellers with a growing interest in health and wellness experiences.
The programme featured a lively line-up of performances and activities, including Mor Lam Genesis, a contemporary presentation that blends Thai folk heritage with modern dance, followed by a large-scale participatory dance to the song Bangkok City. Eight dance teams from China competed across two rounds, evaluated by an expert panel. The evening also included a youth performance symbolising bilateral friendship, featuring a combination of Chinese violin and Thai vocal performances in Mandarin.
Wellness activities formed a central part of the festival experience, with interactive workshops and demonstrations covering health screenings, Thai spa treatments, herbal product making, traditional Thai massage, and Muay Thai for health. Cultural craft sessions further highlighted Thai creativity, while live cooking stations presented Thai cuisine ranging from well-known street food to herbal dishes and traditional desserts.
The China-Thailand Tourism & Cultural Arts Festival 2026 formed part of TAT’s Health and Wellness in Thailand strategy, reinforcing the country’s position as a trusted destination for quality tourism and long-stay travel from China.
